Subject:Exam preparation: the right exam, from the right level
Every package is designed for a specific entry level; exam preparation does not replace a general language course. Official exam fees are always shown separately.
Four exam routes
Family reunification: basisexamen inburgering buitenland (A1)
48 hours from zero or, if you are close to A1, a short package with video + 24 live hours. Lezen, Spreken, KNS.
Naturalisation: A2 exam + KNM
For candidates close to A2: 24 hours of four skills + KNM. Separate KNM module and video package.
Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I (B1)
For candidates close to B1: 24 hours with timed mock exams, personal error report, listening and reading strategies.
Staatsexamen NT2 Programma II (B2)
For candidates close to B2: 30 hours, four skills, writing on a computer, two timed mock exams.

Which exam applies to you
- Basisexamen inburgering buitenland (A1)
- If you are joining your partner from abroad. Exemptions depend on the application type and are checked at enrolment.
- Wet inburgering 2021 (B1)
- If you fall under the Wet inburgering 2021 in the Netherlands, the standard is B1; the route (B1-route, Onderwijsroute, Z-route) is set with your municipality.
- Naturalisation (A2 + KNM)
- The IND publishes A2 as the general language threshold plus KNM; the plan for B1 has not become law.
- Staatsexamen NT2 (B1 / B2)
- Programma I (B1) and Programma II (B2) test four skills; required for education or work.
